Burnt Dirt Ceramics is owned and managed by Tom Coleman in Asheville, NC.

In 2007, Tom began working in clay after taking several pottery classes in Athens, GA. After piecing together a pottery wheel, slab roller, and kiln, a small ceramics studio formed. The studio started in 2012 in Southern California and has transitioned twice to New Mexico and North Carolina. Now >15 years later, Tom still spends most of his free time getting dirty.

Tom enjoys creating functional pottery, sculptures, and decorative pieces. He oscillates between the wheel, slab roller, and hand-building to create various pieces. He frequently mixes clay with wood, metal, and other materials.
